Punch Press Operator

Under the direction of the Fabrication Supervisor, you will set up, operate and troubleshoot our hydraulic press equipment to produce high-quality metal components in a manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Set up and operate punch press machines to produce parts according to specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, manufacture orders, and manufacturing drawings.
• Load raw materials and position workpieces on the press.
• Monitor machine operations and adjust controls as needed to maintain quality and      efficiency.
• Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs on the punch press.
• Inspect finished parts for defects or deviations using measuring tools.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace (5S).
• Collaborate with production team members to meet daily production goals.
• Report any machine malfunctions or safety hazards to maintenance or supervisors immediately. 

Skills, Education & Experience

The following are education and experience criteria used to evaluate suitability for this role:

• Highschool diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience operating hydraulic punch press machines, or similar equipment, is preferred.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
• Mechanically minded and willing to be cross trained in a variety of Fabrication functions.
• Knowledge of metal fabrication and manufacturing processes.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Familiarity with safety standards related to press operations.
• Physical ability to lift heavy materials and stand for long periods.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• 6 months’ experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience operating a punch press preferred
• Experience operating a forklift preferred 

Job Conditions

Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work long hours doing repetitive movements.
• Must be able to bend and reach items at ground level and above the head. 
• Must be able to work on feet, standing and walking throughout the factory for up to 10 hours per day.
• Must be able to wear PPE; to include, but not limited to, safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, gloves, face shields. 

Work Environment

• Fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing setting with exposure to machinery, moderate noise levels, and varying temperatures; requires adherence to safety protocols and teamwork in a production-driven atmosphere.
