POSITION OVERVIEW
We are searching for a detail-oriented and experienced Purchasing Agent to manage the sourcing and procurement of produce, dairy, and fresh goods for the company's distribution operations. This role can be based full-time in Miami, reporting to the Operations Manager, or full-time in the Cayman Islands, reporting to the Purchasing Manager. Candidates based in Miami must hold a valid legal working authorization in the United States, as visa sponsorship is not available for U.S.-based employment. Candidates based in the Cayman Islands are eligible for work permit assistance.

KEY RESPOSIBILITIES

Source, negotiate, and procure produce, dairy, and fresh goods from local and regional suppliers to meet quality and cost standards

Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, evaluating performance and identifying new sourcing opportunities

Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the operations team to ensure timely and accurate stock replenishment

Track market pricing trends for perishable categories and adjust procurement strategy accordingly

Ensure all purchased goods meet the company's quality specifications and food safety requirements

Process purchase orders accurately and maintain up-to-date procurement records and documentation

Collaborate with the warehouse and logistics teams to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve supply issues

Support cost control initiatives by identifying efficiencies and alternative sourcing options where appropriate

QUALIFICATIONS

Proven experience in a purchasing, procurement, or buying role within the foodservice, hospitality, or food distribution industry

Strong knowledge of produce, dairy, and fresh goods categories, including quality standards and market pricing

Excellent negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills

Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

Proficiency in procurement or inventory management systems and Microsoft Office Suite

Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across operations, warehouse, and logistics teams

Candidates based in Miami must hold a valid legal working authorization in the United States

Candidates based in the Cayman Islands are eligible for work permit assistance

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
