The Purchasing Clerk is responsible for processing purchase orders with accuracy and efficiency. This clerical-heavy role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to follow up and communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments. The ideal candidate is dependable, thorough, and able to manage a high volume of administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Accurately enter and process purchase orders based on internal requisitions or established schedules
· Confirm order details and delivery timelines with vendors
· Follow up with vendors and internal teams to resolve discrepancies or delays
· Maintain organized records of all purchasing transactions
· Perform basic data entry and reporting tasks using Microsoft Excel and company ERP software
· Assist with vendor setup and maintenance in purchasing systems
· Support other purchasing and administrative tasks as needed
· Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, or an administrative support role preferred
· Strong attention to detail and ability to spot errors or inconsistencies
· Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel
· Familiarity with ERP or MRP systems is a plus
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Dependable, with strong organizational and follow-up abilities
· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
