Job Title: Purchasing Coordinator
Start Date: Immediately
Salary Range: $23.00-$30.00/Hourly DOE
Position Overview: This purchasing position facilitates the end-to-end procurement process for construction projects, including setting up accounts, placing orders, and coordinating deliveries. The role also involves ongoing tasks such as monitoring material costs, sourcing new suppliers, and managing purchasing documentation. Ideal candidates will possess strong organizational, communication, and computer skills, with a preference for experience in the construction industry and related software.
Essential Functions:
Facilitate the complete purchasing process which includes (but is not limited to):
- Set up 'Job Accounts' with suppliers and place initial material orders using purchase orders (POs)
- Review supplier 'quotes/order confirmations' to ensure quantities & pricing are correct
- Review purchase orders for correct tax-exempt status
- Coordinate with suppliers and construction personnel for material deliveries/pick-ups
- Update the Material Delivery schedule with delivery time and information
- Work with field employees to purchase additional materials as needed
- Review, edit, and record PO’s in Accounting System and Tracking log.
- Review and verify invoices provided by the A/P department on a weekly basis
Perform other purchasing duties including (but not limited to):
- Monitor material pricing from suppliers and track ongoing job material costs
- Source suppliers for new materials as needed
- Print and distribute new PO's
- Track vendor rewards and rebates
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to complete extensive documentation and tracking
- Well planned, organized, deadline-oriented and keen attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office or similar software required; experience with ComputerEase, and Buildertrend (Preferred)
- Expert typing skills
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to change
- Continuous learning to increase job knowledge and job skills

Education and Experience:
- 1-2 yrs. purchasing experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in business or administration or other related field preferred
- High school diploma or GED required
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
- Pass initial drug test and participate in random drug test program
- Primarily indoor shared office environment
- Ability to lift and carry up to 15lbs occasionally
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time
- Use of hands for typing and computer work
- Vision – ability to view computer screens and note details in paperwork
