The purchasing coordinator will coordinate activities associated with Inventory items such as hardware, outside operations, and electronic components. This role is also responsible for buying supplies, spare parts and other materials needed for routine maintenance, repair and operations (or MRO) within the company. The Purchasing Coordinator has the responsibility for ensuring that purchase orders associated with the categories above, reach the correct supplier in a complete and timely manner and that the purchase orders are filled in accordance with REXA terms and conditions and goods/services are received/delivered to the requestor in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
Place purchase orders with outside vendors through the Material Planner Workbench ERP System.
Facilitate indirect purchasing requirements (or MRO) via Pcard, credit card, or standard purchase order.
Run exception reports to expedite items needed in house sooner or items that are not needed and may need to be moved out.
Follow up on purchase orders by getting confirmations, confirming ship dates, and getting tracking numbers where necessary.
Provide monthly open order reports to suppliers to confirm orders coming due are set to arrive on time to the purchase order due date.
Provide quarterly score cards to drive alignment of supplier performance with annual business objectives - delivery and quality.
Take full ownership of parts in categories noted above in case of quality or delivery issues. Quality related issues are addressed with incidents and appropriate PO returns for items that may need to be returned to suppliers for repair, replacement or credit.
Add new vendors into ERP system; obtain appropriate supplier survey data and supplier certification levels.
Ensure that purchase order pricing and invoicing are reconciled in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
At least two years of experience working in a purchasing function or manufacturing environment preferred
Working knowledge of ERP systems
Basic computer skills – Microsoft Office Word & Excel
Service-oriented team player, with ability to interact effectively with employees and external vendors
Good oral and written communication skills
Some understanding of LEAN
Working conditions:
Office environment with involvement in manufacturing activity. No strenuous physical work. Strict compliance with company safety policies.
We offer full benefits and competitive compensation.
Hourly range: $22.89 - 27.58 depending on experience.
