VanZandt Controls and Eagle Automation has an opening for a
Purchasing & Inventory Manager
based out of Fort Worth, TX The ideal candidate would be a self-starter, reliable, demonstrate a desire to learn and is capable of adapting quickly across job functions and responsibilities. This employee
will be the point person to research and work with vendors, making sure that critical items remain in stock to support rapid response and a high service level. Our ideal candidate is a savvy negotiator with a proven track record of successful leadership. You will be responsible for optimizing the end-to-end supply chain processes including Manufacturing/Assembly and distribution operations. You will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient production, inventory management, and timely delivery of our products while maintaining the highest standards of quality and cost-effectiveness.

Objectives:
Basic demand planning using historic inventory usage to forecast future requirements.
Having better visibility and increased control over our total spending, including product acquisition costs.
Reduce costs associated with duplicate purchases or inefficient buying practices.
Forge partnerships with suppliers.
Having a single point of contact for all purchasing/buying needs to foster better communication between departments and vendors.
Consolidating non-line card suppliers to help ensure we're sourcing products from suppliers and resellers that give us the best value.
Education of team members on purchasing and inventory best practices.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement inventory control strategies to optimize inventory levels and minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
Monitor inventory levels and track inventory movement to identify potential discrepancies, variances, or issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (such as sales, operations, and finance) to forecast inventory needs and establish inventory targets.
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials, goods, or products to meet production or customer demand.
Negotiate with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing, favorable payment terms, and favorable contract terms.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and other external partners to ensure a reliable and efficient supply chain.
Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess the accuracy and integrity of inventory records and identify opportunities for improvement.
Analyze inventory data and generate reports to provide insights and recommendations to management on inventory control strategies and purchasing decisions.
Continuously evaluate and improve purchasing processes and procedures to streamline operations, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
Qualifications:
Expertise in purchasing processes and inventory optimization.
Strong analytical skills to streamline purchasing procedures and forecast inventory requirements.
Negotiating with suppliers and ensuring procurement process compliance.
Good organizational and communication skills.
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, or related field preferred, or a combination of education and experience.
Experience in a manufacturing or distribution enterprise.
Experience with NetSuite ERP or similar systems.
Hours:
M-F 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. (may be subject to change with the needs of the business)
