Purchasing Manager

Blend Supply is looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead our purchasing and inventory management function. This role is responsible for supplier relationships, purchasing strategy, inventory availability, cost accuracy, vendor negotiations, and day-to-day leadership of the purchasing team.

This is a hands-on leadership role. The right candidate will be comfortable working in the details while also helping improve processes, reporting, supplier programs, and inventory discipline across the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily purchasing activities and provide direction to the purchasing team. 
• Manage supplier relationships, pricing, terms, rebates, lead times, and purchasing programs. 
• Negotiate with vendors to support the best overall outcome for Blend Supply. 
• Monitor inventory levels, turns, safety stock, reorder points, open purchase orders, backorders, and forecast needs. 
• Identify and reduce excess, slow-moving, obsolete, and dead stock inventory. 
• Review supplier price increases and ensure cost updates are handled accurately and on time. 
• Maintain accurate purchasing-related data in Epicor Prophet 21, including item information, vendor data, costs, lead times, and purchasing controls. 
• Work closely with Sales, Customer Success, Operations, Quality, Accounting, and leadership on purchasing needs, supplier issues, and inventory planning. 
• Support customer, government, military, AS9100D, and documentation requirements related to purchasing. 
• Evaluate buy-ahead opportunities, supplier programs, freight impact, and inventory investments with a focus on cash flow, margin, and customer service. 
• Help create structure, documentation, and accountability within the purchasing department. 

  Qualifications

• 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or inventory management experience preferred. 
• 2+ years of leadership, team lead, supervisory, or project ownership experience preferred. 
• Experience in aerospace and industrial coatings, industrial distribution, chemicals, PPE, MRO, or technical products preferred. 
• Strong understanding of inventory management, including turns, safety stock, reorder points, lead times, blanket orders, and supplier programs. 
• Epicor Prophet 21 experience strongly preferred. 
• Strong Excel and reporting skills required. 
• Ability to work with pricing files, vendor cost updates, item data, supplier documents, and inventory reports. 
• Strong communication skills with suppliers, internal departments, and company leadership. 
• Ability to make decisions using data, business judgment, and total cost impact. 
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered. 

Preferred Skills

• Experience managing supplier price increases and contract pricing. 
• Experience with AS9100D, Certificates of Conformance, lot traceability, supplier documentation, or aerospace/customer requirements. 
• Experience supporting multiple distribution locations. 
• Experience improving purchasing workflows, reporting, ERP accuracy, and inventory controls. 
• Salesforce, Power BI, SharePoint, or Office 365 experience is a plus.
