Purchasing Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

• Research, evaluate, and select suppliers based on price, quality, service, and reliability.


• Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors and suppliers.


• Issue purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.


• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with internal departments to forecast demand.


• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.


• Resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing discrepancies.


• Stay updated on market trends and changes in supply and demand.


• Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement regulations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.


• Proven experience as a purchasing agent or in a similar procurement role.


• Strong negotiation and communication skills.


• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.


• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.


• Knowledge of supply chain procedures and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in procurement (e.g., CPP, CPSM, or equivalent).


• Experience in [industry-specific experience, e.g., manufacturing].

Working Conditions:

• Office-based with occasional travel to supplier sites or trade shows.


• May require extended hours during peak procurement periods.
