Purchasing Specialist (Internal Candidates Only)

The Purchasing Specialist will perform acquisition of supplies, materials, equipment and services. Duties include procuring products and services through a variety of purchasing methods and procedures. Individual will assist with all stages of the procurement process from the initiation of a purchase request, through receipt and delivery of the purchase, to entry into our Unanet Accounting System for proper billing.

A Secret Clearance is preferred for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.

• Must be proficient in Excel and Adobe Acrobat.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail are a must.
• Should be analytically minded and possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Analyze a variety of information, such as market research analysis, item characteristics and descriptions, special requirements, shipping requirements and required by dates.
• Review purchase requests for completeness and accuracy, ensuring purchase is compliant with SimVentions procurement policies and procedures.
• Produce purchase request documentation such as cost analysis and purchase orders.
• Negotiate terms and conditions with vendors.
• Coordinate changes to requests between requester and vendor such as substitutions of materials and services, increase in costs, changes in the delivery date that exceeds required by date.
• Monitor delivery and acceptance of requests, keep requester informed of order status including estimated shipping date, tracking information or problems, and update our SharePoint Purchasing site.
• Compile documentation required to meet compliancy with SimVentions policies and procedures.
• Use Unanet Accounting system to perform purchasing responsibilities such as entering purchase requests, creating purchase orders, acknowledging receipt of materials and services, and reconciling total costs associated with purchase.
• Coordinate with finance department to facilitate payments and resolve payments issues and corporate credit card reconciliation.
• Participate in the development of policies and procedures to ensure procurement practices and documentation comply with any contract requirements and FAR regulations.
• Perform all other position related duties as needed.

• Knowledge of sales and marketing principles is advantageous.
• Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) preferred.

Compensation at SimVentions is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, as well as alignment with our corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements.

The projected annual compensation range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000 (USD). This estimate reflects the standard salary range for this position and is just one component of the total compensation package that SimVentions offers.
