Python Developer – Scientific Workflow Platform

We are looking for a Python Developer to join a global pharmaceutical company in Prague and support the integration of multiple scientific applications with the Schrödinger LiveDesign platform.

In addition to platform integrations, the role will contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of a workflow engine utilizing advanced statistical and cheminformatics methods to identify and propose novel chemical compounds.

Key Responsibilities

• Support integrations between existing scientific applications and the Schrödinger LiveDesign platform
  


• Enhance and maintain workflow engines for chemical compound discovery
  


• Develop backend services and APIs supporting scientific workflows
  


• Collaborate with scientists, researchers, and engineering teams to implement technical solutions
  


• Work with cheminformatics and statistical processing pipelines
  


• Maintain and improve cloud infrastructure and deployment processes
  


• Participate in CI/CD automation and infrastructure management
  


• Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code
  


• Support monitoring, debugging, and optimization of existing systems
  

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Python
  


• Experience with JavaScript and modern web technologies
  


• Experience with PostgreSQL
  


• Strong understanding of REST APIs
  


• Experience working with AWS cloud services
  


• Familiarity with Vue.js
  


• Experience with GitHub and GitHub Actions
  


• Knowledge of Terraform and infrastructure-as-code concepts
  


• Experience with Docker and containerized applications
  

Nice to Have

• Experience in scientific computing, cheminformatics, or pharmaceutical environments
  


• Familiarity with workflow orchestration engines
  


• Experience working in highly regulated enterprise environments
  


• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native architectures
