Job Description - QA Lead (Performance)

QA Lead (Performance) will lead a team of offshore/onshore performance engineers. Work closely with the QA Manager, the development team leads/architecture team and product management on understanding the design/architecture and building Non-Functional Requirements. As the QA Lead (Performance), your role is to ensure the application and infrastructure can handle the production load and ensuring there are no bottlenecks while scaling up/down based on the traffic. You will create robust scripts with data combinations mimicking Production traffic on lower environment to capture metrics (SLAs). Passion for learning, collaboration is a must!

RESPONSIBILTIES

Identifying performance test environment requirements and collaborating with the infrastructure, network operations, environment, and release teams to set up the environment for effective SLA measurements.

Providing professional project planning, estimation, non-functional test approaches, technical test solutions, issue/risk management, and results/analysis in keeping with organization's standards.

Managing performance testing lifecycle, including the development of test strategy, impact assessment, test plan, test execution (manual and automation), test report, and quality assurance.

Creating performance test use cases and test scenarios within the defined scope.

Developing data-driven test scripts and executing performance and load testing of applications.

Building modular automated performance test scripts for web-based and mobile applications utilizing SOA design and APIs in a continuous integration environment and providing remediation plans.

Researching new ways of performance testing and recommending system configuration and tuning improvements based on observations.

Taking ownership of the non-functional test solution from project initiation to final acceptance, with responsibility for each NFT milestone within the cycle.

Coordinating with 3rd party vendors, contract developers, and/or partners as required.

Coordinating with a technical team of vendors, depending on project performance delivery requirements.

Developing functional automation test cases for customer interactive performance testing.

Uplifting peer testing, regression testing, and automation skills.

Contributing to the Enterprise Performance roadmap.

Creating knowledge management-related deliverables such as tools related processes and procedures.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

4 - year degree required

7 years of overall experience in software testing preferred

3 years of lead experience with performance testing tools like JMeter (preferred), LoadRunner, Neoload preferred

Experience working on cloud-based execution platforms like Blaze meter and inhouse cloud based distributed VMs on Azure/AWS

Experience in scripting for UI and Services

Experience in monitoring and building performance stats on tools like new relic, Datadog

Experience with version control tools like GIT

Need to have clear understanding of CI/CD implementation.

Proficient in establishing strong test data management tools/framework.

Experience in Retail domain is a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

In-depth understanding of performance testing environment setup and SLA measurement.

Proficiency in project planning, estimation, and risk management.

Experience in performance testing lifecycle management and quality assurance.

Ability to develop data-driven test scripts and carry out performance and load testing.

Skill in creating automated performance test scripts for web-based and mobile applications.

Knowledge of system configuration and tuning for performance optimization.

Leadership skills to manage a technical team and coordinate with third-party vendors and partners.

Experience in developing functional automation test cases.

Skills in regression testing and automation.

Openness to learning new techniques, technologies, and tools.

Ability to work with multiple automation and profiling test tools, both standard and open-source.

Knowledge of knowledge management and related deliverables such as tools related processes and procedures
