Job Description - QA Supervisor

Description

QA Supervisor | Night Shift

Oversee daily operations of the quality department's hourly workforce, ensuring rigorous audits of food product manufacturing to uphold Safety, Quality, and Food Safety standards. Drive continuous improvement in products and processes by proactively supervising and guiding Quality Assurance Technicians.

  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Quality and Food Safety

  • Manage and coordinate quality control programs to ensure continuous production/service consistent with established standards.
  • Implements and manages food safety programs and controls, audits, and food defense programs. 
  • Plans and conducts training activities related to quality and food safety.
  • Manages inspection and testing procedures for finished products
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists employees in solving work problems.
  • Implements and coordinates quality control objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other supervisors and managers to maximize quality, reliability and minimize costs.
  • Manages and updates the HACCP program.
  • Assist in the investigation of customer complaints regarding quality.

Safety and Security

  • Instruct hourly personnel in the safety and security aspects of their positions.
  • Supervise hourly personnel to ensure compliance to Company safety and security procedures and standards.
  • Proactively participate in Company safety programs.
  • To provide a safe working environment for line personnel. Monitor condition of equipment and facilities and initiate corrective action when deficiencies are noted
  • Comply with and enforces where applicable COVID-19 procedures and protocols. Responsible for actively engaging other managers, supervisors and employees who are out of compliance as well. 

Personnel

  • To develop a well-trained, motivated, and loyal work force.
  • Ensure that employees receive adequate training for the tasks assigned.
  • Enforce company policies such as Attendance, Dress Code, GMP’s, etc.
  • Reduce or eliminate non-productive labor costs and to effectively manage overtime.
  • Promote a sense of teamwork among the hourly workforce through motivation and training of the employees.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance required ; Associate's or Bachelor's degree desired. 
  • Experience in quality assurance or a high-paced processing environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Effective people management and interpersonal skills
