QA-Engineer-Software Test II

QA-Engineer-Software Test II (Please check this is not a generic QA)
Location : San Jose CA
Duration: 1-2 years
Pay rate on corp to corp:  (ONLY couple of dollars more for the right fit)


This position will participate in standard test design and software life cycle methodology working closely with development organization in understanding new software/hardware features and executing the necessary quality test cycles.

Responsibilities
-              Plan and Execute test cases (functional, integration, regression).
-              Document and Report Defects following established QA processes.
-              Bring up UCS servers, configure networks and setup data center test topology.
-              Work with Developers to debug system/software issues and work towards resolution.
-              Report Test Progress and Quality Report to Management and track quality progress.
-              Support on-going team activities to maintain test infrastructure and quality metrics.

Requirements
-              4+ years of experience as Test Engineer or QA Engineer.
-              In-depth knowledge of OS (Linux, Windows, ESX), Networking and Storage.
-              Administrative experience in setting up Switches and Storage targets.
-              Familiarity with Server Architectures, Device Drivers, Firmware.
-              Strong up-to-date knowledge in standard QA processes and testing tools.
-              Strong in Debugging and troubleshooting system software/hardware problems.
-              Good Communications and Team Player.

Highly Desirable knowledge/experience
-              Linux Kernels Embedded Systems, Virtualization.
-              Data Center Networking.
-              Test Case Automation using Perl/Python/Tcl.
