Job Description - QA/QC- Engineer - Electrical SME - Boise, ID

Quality Assurance Mechanical Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Position Summary:
FusionIRX is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced QA/QC Mechanical SME to provide expert guidance and oversight in quality assurance processes for mechanical systems within sophisticated semiconductor fabrication and data center environments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of quality management principles, mechanical systems, and industry-specific regulations. This role will involve the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality standards and practices to ensure compliance and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead QA/QC efforts for mechanical systems, including HVAC, process piping, chillers, and mechanical equipment in line with industry best practices.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee quality assurance processes, including material specifications, inspection protocols, and testing methodologies.
  • Perform technical assessments and audits of mechanical systems and processes to ensure compliance with applicable codes (ASME, NFPA, etc.) and project specifications.
  • Work closely with design, construction, and operations teams to address quality-related issues and develop corrective action plans.
  • Document quality incidents, manage non-conformance reports, and ensure effective root cause analysis is conducted.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and support to QA/QC team members and project staff on QA protocols and standards.
  • Facilitate communication between stakeholders including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies regarding quality expectations and compliance.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve QA/QC practices to align with industry advancements and ensure best practices are adopted.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control with a focus on mechanical systems in high-tech industries such as semiconductor manufacturing or data centers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of QA/QC methodologies, statistical process control, and quality management systems.
  • Expertise in mechanical systems, with familiarity in HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting audits, inspections, and assessments in construction or fabrication environments.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to resolve complex quality issues efficiently.
  • Effective communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration and training.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and best practices in quality assurance.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CQM, CQE) are a plus but not mandatory.
