Summary

ATMI Precast is seeking a QC Steel Engineer to oversee quality control operations related to steel hardware and welding processes. In this role, you will supervise a small team, ensure compliance with AWS welding codes, and maintain accurate documentation of inspections. You’ll balance hands-on inspections with leadership responsibilities, supporting both the technical accuracy and the continuous improvement of our quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily QC operations for internal and external steel hardware
• Conduct inspections and audits of welders and welding machines
• Maintain and organize QC steel documentation and records
• Assist with field weld inspections as needed
• Train, mentor, and lead a team of 2–3 QC employees
• Ensure compliance with welding standards and safety protocols
• Work toward achieving full CWI certification

• Graduate of a welding or welding inspection program
• Certified Associate Welding Inspector (CAWI) preferred
• ASNT Level 2 certification preferred
• Strong knowledge of AWS D1.1 and D1.4 welding codes
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding documents
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and documentation software
• Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills
