Job Description - Qualified Professional-Program Supervisor Clinical Billing


Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in Special Education, Psychology, Sociology, or related field required; Two years’ experience working with people with developmental and/or similar disabilities if degree is in related field or Three years’ experience if degree is in an unrelated field. Must qualify as a Qualified Professional or be supervised by a QP until qualified and fully privileged. Knowledge of behavioral health standards, funding sources, authorizations and electronic health records required.
  • Computer Skills: 
    • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of and skill in utilizing Microsoft 365.
  • Certificates and Licenses: 
    • Qualified Professional (QP)
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in Special Education, Psychology, Sociology, or related field required.
  • Physical Requirements:

    Must be able to operate a variety of automated office machines and other equipment,(e.g., computers, copier, wheelchairs). Must be able to exert up to fifty pounds of force occasionally and/or frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Physical demands are more than sedentary work; position requires walking, standing, reaching, stooping, etc.

Job Description

The primary duty of the position is the responsibility for assisting individuals in exploring vocational options, setting goals, and establishing needed services and supports to reach those goals. Goals and / or needed supports and services may extend beyond the vocational realm into any area of the individual’s life and may include assessment, planning, support, guidance, coordination, and implementation. The Qualified Professional is responsible for meeting necessary planning and documentation requirements per clinical policy guidelines of funding sources.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  1. Ensures that clinical billing is accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
  2. Completes weekly electronic health record (Therap) documentation audits prior to submitting reports to Director of Clinical Services.
  3. Ensures authorizations are submitted in a timely manner.
  4. Assists with intakes/discharges with clinical team members.
  5. Maintains clinical files for accuracy and compliance with HIPPA regulations.
  6. Ensures that program activities comply with Medicaid Waiver services as well as state laws and regulations.
  7. Assists Director of Clinical Services with collecting progress data for authorization reports. 
  8. Maintains information in electronic health record (Therap) to ensure accuracy in billing.
  9. Ensures the confidentiality of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including their records and supports and services provided. 
  10. Knowledge of funder sources software and ability to utilize funder source software.
  11. Participates in developing annual person-centered plan in conjunction with the treatment team as appropriate. 
  12. Maintains ongoing communication with all treatment team members.
  13. Reviews plans and goals quarterly and amends as needed. 
  14. Attends and participates in all mandated meetings, trainings, professional conferences, and seminars.
  15. Fosters a safe and healthy environment for all individuals with I/DD, staff, and visitors.  
  16. Provides first aid and emergency care as needed. 
  17. Always demonstrates professional behavior.
  18. Accepts and responds positively to program changes.
  19. Provides necessary training for staff.
  20. Responds as needed in emergency situations. 
  21. Supervises all aspects of private pay program including generation of monthly billing and coordinating activities for individuals with I/DD.
  22. Responsible for monitoring and approving timeclock for direct reports.
  23. Other related duties as assigned.
