Job Description - Quality and Lean Manager ITO

Job Description Summary

As a leader overseeing multiple job families, you will drive quality and lean maturity across Gas Power Services. You will serve as the bridge between technical excellence and commercial success, ensuring our "Inquiry-to-Order" (ITO) processes are robust, customer-focused, and highly competitive. This role is for a strategic thinker who excels at integrating lean methodologies into daily business operations and coaching senior leadership toward a culture of continuous improvement.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial Quality Support: Execute proactive efforts to eliminate customer escapes and minimize customer events through robust containment and systemic correction of non-conformances within the Commercial (ITO) phase.
  • Operational Performance: Monitor key leading and lagging indicators that directly impact ITO service quality and customer success across commercial operations.
  • Problem-Solving & Standardization: Perform systemic ITO problem-solving to root cause; utilize the Zero Defect Framework to build cross-functional Value Stream capabilities and reach Transactional Target Conditions.
  • Lean Operating Method Implementation: Build ITO maturity in the key elements of the GEV Lean Operating Method including Daily Management, Monthly Operating Reviews, Lean Roadmap, Kaizen, and Hoshin Kanri; curate and disseminate all lean content such as communications, templates/tools, operating system implementation status, Kaizen activity, business performance results, and success stories highlighting people’s achievements.
  • Lean Partnership: Serve as coach for senior business leaders, responsible for championing the lean transformation of the business; guide the development of a strong Lean Roadmap, encourage a learning-by-doing model to build lean capability, and support leaders as they cascade lean approaches ever deeper into their organization.
  • Audits & Compliance: Support the ITO Commercial Audit Plan, identify findings, and track corrective actions to closure, ensuring strict compliance with operational procedures.
  • Performance Reporting: Coordinate ITO data for the Services Quality Monthly Operating Reviews; maintain the ITO Services Quality Tableau dashboard as the definitive source of KPI truth.
  • Quality & Lean Enablement: Provide technical guidance and support to commercial teams regarding lean & quality strategy, culture, and continuous improvement methodologies to foster a customer-centric mindset.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a Technical Discipline from an accredited college or university and at least 5 years of experience.
  • Experience: Substantive experience in the Energy industry, with significant proficiency in project management, quality management, and lean operating systems.
  • Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to analyze, resolve complex problems, and execute tasks with a focus on results; demonstrated mastery of applying lean in diverse contexts; skills facilitating global, cross-functional, mission-based teams toward a common goal
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 20% as required.
  • Language: English proficiency is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in process improvement and organizational change.
  • Leadership of previous Kaizen events, with Kaizen Facilitator Training completion as an added benefit.
  • Experience in global initiatives and quality control measurement systems.
  • Experience in ITO/Commercial roles.
  • A clear understanding of GE’s roles, functions, products, and services.

Work Environment This role operates within a fast-paced environment focused on the Commercial (ITO) phase, requiring effective collaboration across cross-functional teams to drive quality improvements.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $107,600.00 and $179,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
