Job Description - Quality Assurance and Training Manager

Are you a precision-driven leader who thrives on clinical excellence and empowering teams through top-tier training?

The Opportunity: Nova is seeking a Quality Assurance & Training Manager to serve as the clinical "Integrity Lead" for our 8-home ICF-IID program. This is a high-impact role designed for a "Compliance Architect"—someone who can master the data within our systems while building the competency of our frontline staff through training and development.

The Mission: You will be the primary safeguard for our agency’s clinical operations. You are responsible for ensuring that all 8 homes—conveniently located within a 15-minute radius—are survey-ready and staffed by highly competent caregivers. You will act as the "Objective Third Eye" for the Program Director, using digital tools and on-site mentorship to ensure our 24/7 environment exceeds all state and federal standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Integrity Lead: Directly oversee the "Health" of our consumer records, ensuring that every ISP, consent, and care plan is current, signed, and audit-proof.
  • Workforce Development: Lead the New Employee Orientation (NEO) and design specialized training programs that transform new hires into elite, clinical caregivers.
  • Digital Audit Master: Utilize EHR dashboards to monitor real-time documentation trends, identifying and correcting "red flags" before they become compliance issues.
  • On-Site Compliance: Conduct regular "Mock Surveys" and environmental checks to ensure our group homes meet all NC DHSR and Life Safety standards 365 days a year.
  • Regulatory Partner: Lead the implementation of Plans of Correction (POC), working as a strategic advisor to House Managers and the Program Director.
  • Operational Reporting: Run and present weekly key metrics to the leadership team, providing a data-driven "Snapshot" of agency compliance and staff competency.

Requirements

Required Education & Experience:

  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent (Preference given to candidates with an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services field).
  • Experience: Minimum 2+ years of experience in Medical Records and Electronic Health Records (EHR), preferably in a disability services or ICF/IID setting.
  • Background: Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) is highly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to run complex data reports and identify trends within clinical documentation.
  • Communication: Strong public speaking and facilitation skills for leading staff training.
  • Regulation Fluency: Familiarity with North Carolina Mental Health regulations and DHSR survey processes.
  • Mobility: Must be able to travel between all 8 homes (within a 20-minute radius) for on-site audits.
