OBJECTIVE

Reporting to the Quality Control Manager, the Quality Assurance Inspector role exists to maintain and follow our established food safety program and required government oPIQ program.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification:

• High School Diploma


• Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HAooP), Food Safety and Health and Safety

Experience & Skills:

• Minimum 3-5 years quality control experience within the produce industry


• Ability to lift up to 50lbs repetitively and stand on feet for majority of the working day


• Knowledge of document control practices


• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)


• Organizational skills, problem solving and ability to prioritize


• Proficient in Word/Excel and Outlook as well as an inventory management software


• Flexibility and willingness to work overtime as required, which may include some evenings and weekends

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Management of the o-PIQ program at EarthFresh including:
   
   
   
   • communicates with oFIA on proposed program changes
   
   
   • Maintaining un-issued o-PIQ export documents in a secure place
   
   
   • Assures all shipments are properly identified and labelled (bags & markings/lot identification)
   
   
   • Assures that all records are available to management, quality control and oFIA
   
   
   • Maintains a supply of blank forms for quality control records
   
   
   • Acts for and assists Plant Manager and Quality control Manager when necessary
   
   
   • Performs and supervises inspections and monitoring procedures
   
   
   • Reviews inspection results
   
   
   • Controls and maintains the official onsite Quality Assurance Operating Manual
   
   
   • Responsible for completed export documents being Faxed to the oFIA office
   
   
   • Request, controls and issue o-PIQ export and transfer documents
   
   
   • As directed faxes completed export certificates and request for certificates to oFIA
   
   
   • Maintaining required Reference material
   
   
   • Assures that each transportation vehicle is suitable for shipments and that temperatures are recorded
   
   
   • cleans and maintains the inspection site
   
   
   • Responsible for each lot and pallet identification, proper marking, and records
   
   
   
   

1. Work closely with Procurement and Sales to inform team members of quality standards related to each EarthFresh customer.


2. Review and inspect all quality standards of incoming and/or outgoing product according to customer specifications.


3. Work closely with all departments at EarthFresh to ensure that Quality control levels are being met throughout the organization and communicate product grades.
