Job Description - Quality Assurance Inspector III

Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY 

​​​The Quality Assurance Inspector III is responsible for inspecting projects to validate that prior work was done properly and all cost-effective measures were addressed and helped achieve program goals. This individual is expected to use their training and expertise to provide feedback and recommendations regarding operational successes and challenges with the goal of continually improving quality assurance. This individual will also provide guidance and training as requested by managers.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES​​ 

  • Perform in-progress, post-treatment and onsite inspections of program-related work completed in residences for participants in energy efficiency programs. This may include residential, commercial, or industrial locations.  

  • Verify, evaluate and document the work performed and report findings and recommendations as . Work may involve data collection both electronically and on paper and data entry in various electronic program-management systems. 

  • Identify missed opportunities, work performed without benefit and other quality concerns, and develop corrective action plans. Duties may include re-inspection of work that previously  corrective action. 

  • Perform quality audits of the installed weatherization measures. Perform diagnostic and safety testing if  

  • Install weatherization measures such as window and door weather stripping, if  

  • Assist with the investigation and resolution of customer service issues both on-site and  remotely. Perform review of completed energy audit paperwork as needed.  

  • Responsible for material inventory and field distribution. 

  • Assist with the training of program personnel to improve program delivery and customer  satisfaction.  

  • Interact with appropriate parties when performing on-site and post inspections. Interface with contractors, vendors, residential customers, multifamily customers and/or commercial property management staff to ensure quality work. 

  • Assist management with reports and training as requested. 

  • Serve as technical resource and support on new projects. 

  • Provide feedback via a grading system as needed.  

  • Lead, direct, coach and mentor energy auditors, subcontractors and weatherization technicians on course corrections to ensure favorable quality work outcomes.  

  • Take corrective action on-site to bring substandard measures and installations up to program standards when possible.  

  • Manage supplied inventory materials and company issued equipment. 

  • Conduct work in compliance with OSHA and company safety procedures. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned.  

 

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS  

  • High school diploma or equivalent  

  • 3-5 years' prior energy efficiency technical expertise preferred 

  • Relevant industry certifications as required by program and client guidelines. 

  • Professional energy efficiency training . 

  • Strong supervision skills to lead, direct, coach and mentor. Prior mentoring experience preferred. 

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, in speech and writing, with customers, staff, managers, supervisors, contractors and clients. 

  • Valid driver’s license  and use of personal vehicle may be necessary per location.  

  • Compliance with acceptable vehicle insurance levels as outlined in the company policy. 

  • Strong communication, both verbal and written, and relationship-building skills. 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change when needed. 

  • ​​Ability to work a flexible schedule.  

  • Perform the essential functions and physical demands of the position with or without accommodation. 

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.  

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • ​​Physically active position which includes climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, typing, grasping, talking, hearing and using repetitive motion.  

  • Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of automated office machinery, such as a computer. 

  • Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone.  

  • Visual capacity enabling frequent use of computer equipment. 

  • Heavy work: ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. 

  • Indoor and outdoor environmental conditions. This may or may not include extreme cold  temperatures below 32 degrees and extreme heat above 100 degrees.  

  • Atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dust, gases or inadequate ventilation.  

  • Sufficient noise where the employee may need to shout. 

  • Hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, exposure to chemicals, exposure to oscillating movements and working in high places.  

  • Frequent close quarters such as crawl spaces, shafts, small rooms, narrow aisles or other areas that could cause claustrophobia. 

Pay Range:

$57,200.00 - $77,450.00

The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, certifications, etc.
