The QA Lab Manager will lead the daily operations of our microbiology and chemistry laboratories. This role is vital in maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality by ensuring compliance with regulatory and certification requirements. The ideal candidate will supervise lab personnel, maintain lab certifications, and actively support quality assurance systems across the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily operations of the microbiology and chemistry labs.

• Ensure compliance with internal quality standards, food safety regulations, and ISO 17025 certification requirements.

• Supervise, mentor, and train lab technicians and other QA personnel.

• Oversee routine and specialized microbial and chemical testing procedures.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date regulatory and documentation records.

• Coordinate and participate in proficiency testing and internal audits.

• Analyze data, generate reports, and communicate findings clearly to management.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives in laboratory processes and quality systems.

• Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.

• Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous learning within the lab.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, or a related field (preferred).

• 25 years of experience in a quality assurance or laboratory environment.

• Strong knowledge of ISO 17025 standards and lab certification processes.

• Hands-on experience with microbiological and chemical testing methodologies.

• Proficient in regulatory documentation and proficiency testing programs.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and team development skills.

• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.

• Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making.

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work in a laboratory setting as needed.
