Job Description - Quality Assurance Oversight

UDR Consulting is seeking qualified candidates for Quality Assurance Oversight opportunities for our customer in Carlsbad, NM to support the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP).

Work Location: On-Site at WIPP
Per diem is available for those who qualify.

The Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is the nation’s only permanent nuclear waste repository for defense-generated transuranic (TRU) waste generated from Department of Energy (DOE) sites across the country. Waste is permanently isolated over 2,000 feet underground in deep salt beds.

Duties:

Support packaging department in a QA Oversight role.

Perform customer witness verification/ hold points.
Document information required for a (QAIP) Quality Assurance Inspection Plan.
Input required data logs and keep them updated.
Keep packaging appointed representative updated daily of any issues or concerns.
Communicate with fellow QA oversight counterparts as needed.
This function is primarily at the vendor location fabrication facility in Ogden, Utah and could possibly be needed as a backup at other vendors within the US/Canada.
Travel required as having a US passport is a plus.
QC to inspect codes and standards approved by management.
Experience in Dimensional, Fit up, Weld Inspection load test.
Receipt inspection of anything called out in the QAIP for specific containers being fabricated.
Will report to the Quality Assurance Manager.

Preferred:

AWS/CWI with a nuclear industry background.
ASME NQA-1
Experience in welding inspections

Qualifications:

5-10+ years of Quality Assurance experience desired.
