Job Description - Quality Assurance Specialist


Overview
The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for monitoring and improving the quality of services delivered across the organization. This role conducts audits, analyzes data, and supports compliance with internal policies, regulatory standards, and accreditation requirements. The position is fully remote, requiring independent work with virtual collaboration across teams.

The position is fully remote, requiring independent work with virtual collaboration across teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine and targeted audits of clinical documentation, workflows, and operational processes to ensure compliance with organizational policies and applicable regulations.
  • Review patient records for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to clinical protocols and payer requirements.
  • Compile and analyze quality data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist in developing and implementing quality improvement initiatives based on audit findings and data analysis.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to provide education, feedback, and support regarding quality standards and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of audits, findings, and follow-up actions.
  • Stay updated on current regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and industry best practices relevant to the organization’s services.
  • Support readiness for accreditation surveys, payer audits, and regulatory inspections.
  • Participate in virtual departmental and organizational meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager or leadership team.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in quality assurance, compliance, auditing, or a related role in a healthcare setting.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements, quality standards, and compliance guidelines (e.g. CMS, Joint Commission, NCQA).
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to provide effective feedback and education.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
  • Fully on- site position
  • Bilingual 
  • May require occasional travel for on-site audits, training, or meetings depending on organizational needs.

Pay: $17.00- $20.00 - per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
