Job Description - Quality Assurance Specialist

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Applies comprehensive technical knowledge to ensure quality assurance protocols and procedures are fully implemented and executed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Create quality measurements to track improvement in product
  • Execute quality improvement testing and activities
  • Develop quality assurance standards and company processes
  • Adhere to industry quality and safety standards
  • Ensure products meet customer expectations and demand
  • Create reports documenting errors and issues for fixing
  • Work closely with the development team to improve existing products
  • Maintain standards for reliability and performance of production
  • Support customer required audits
  • Evaluate root cause and corrective action responses

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will not have any direct reports

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Skill using Microsoft Office Suite; intermediate level skills with MS Project or other project scheduling related software required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write detailed reports and correspondence
  • Ability to brief multi-functional audiences
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff.
  • Will also routinely interact with external contacts such as customers, vendors, suppliers, shipping companies, etc.
  • Must be trustworthy – will handle confidential information routinely
  • Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, etc.
  • Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to evaluate data and consider decision impact across multiple areas.
  • Strong decision analysis and problem-solving skills; ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions. Must be able to communicate issues to management and regulatory agencies
  • Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to goals.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations, detect unobvious facts and issues, and exercise resourcefulness in resolving problems.
  • Must be able to work independently and stay on task with minimal supervision
  • Ability to multi-task and stay on target with meeting milestones and goals
  • Experience with warehousing best practices
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma tools is a plus
  • Familiar with government contracting terminology
  • Accustomed with working in a represented workforce environment

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical field or; High School Diploma or Equivalent with minimum of 3 years’ experience
  • Previous government contracting experience managing a multi-million-dollar budget
  • Ability to pass a drug and background screening
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
