Quality Assurance Technician - Apple

Department:  Quality Assurance

Status: Non-Exempt

Employee Classification:  Regular Full-time

Reports To:  Quality Assurance & Sanitation Manager

Supervisory Responsibilities:  None

Shift: 3:30pm to 3:30am, 4 days a week (includes weekends)

Job Summary:  Responsible for performing Quality Assurance testing and ensure Food Safety and Quality in Ever Fresh Fruit Products, Raw Materials, Packaging, Equipment, Facility, etc.

Essential Functions:

1. Create accurate records, all conducted according to established policies and procedures.


2. Responsible for maintaining GMPs throughout the facility both within the QA department and all other departments.

1. Assist with Pre-operational inspections


2. Provide Production support


3. Monitor and adhere to HACCP plans, reporting and performing corrective action when necessary


4. Perform Product Quality testing (brix, pH, pressure, USDA grades, etc.)


5. Perform Product documentation control, scanning and filing

1. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.


2. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.


3. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.


4. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute ratio and percent.


5. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.


6. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations


7. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Working Conditions/Physical Factors:

1. Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions.


2. Worker may be exposed to a loud working environment.


3. Worker may be exposed to hazards in the workplace such as proximity to equipment conducting extreme heat, moving parts, and electrical current


4. Must be able to work in environment containing allergens (nuts, milk, wheat, etc.)


5. Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time


6. Occasionally required to use hands and fingers 


7. Frequently required to talk or hear


8. Frequently required to taste and smell


9. Frequently required to lift/push/pull/carry weight up to 50 pounds
