Job Description - Quality Assurance Technician

Position Summary
The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for testing and inspecting products throughout the production process to ensure they meet food safety and quality standards. This role collects, documents, and evaluates data to verify product consistency, reliability, and compliance with specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct standardized testing of peanuts, granulated peanuts, peanut butter, and pastes for flavor, odor, moisture, color, grind, and other quality factors
Smell and taste product samples to confirm they meet required specifications
Pull product and environmental swab samples for internal review or third-party lab testing
Accurately record and calculate test results, including percentages and averages
Immediately notify operators and supervisors of any non-conforming product and complete required documentation
Verify metal detector functionality on a scheduled basis and document results; follow deviation procedures when necessary
Prepare and set up production loads for current and upcoming shifts
Clean and sanitize testing equipment, instruments, and work areas as needed
Maintain housekeeping standards in the quality lab and surrounding areas
Follow all GMP, sanitation, food safety, and workplace safety regulations
Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required
1-3 months of related quality, lab, or manufacturing experience preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to perform basic math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, averages, and percentages)
Comfortable working independently and managing responsibilities without direct supervision
Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to food safety and quality standards
