Eaton\u2019s GEIS division is currently seeking a Quality Calibration Technician. This position is based out of our Syracuse, NY location. \n\nThe expected annual salary range for this role is $47000 - $69000 a year. \n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nPosition Overview: \nThe Calibration Technician is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and proper documentation of inspection equipment used across the Syracuse manufacturing facility. This role maintains both the electronic database and hard\u2011copy calibration records, performs inhouse calibration activities, and applies appropriate labeling and documentation updates. The technician supports production teams, other Eaton facilities, and External Providers by supplying job\u2011specific inspection tools as needed.\n\nKey responsibilities include coordinating all third\u2011party calibration activities, from obtaining quotes to issuing purchase orders and scheduling services\u2014along with training employees on proper equipment care and use. The role also generates and distributes routine calibration status reports and actively supports the site\u2019s Quality Management System through participation in internal and external audits. \n\nWhat you\u2019ll do: \n\u2022 Maintain the specific databases for all necessary inspection equipment. \n\u2022 Maintain hard copy calibration certification files for master inspection equipment. \n\u2022 Perform in-house calibration, affix calibration stickers and update records of inspection equipment. \n\u2022 Support production personnel by providing job specific inspection equipment. \n\u2022 Support other Eaton facilities and External Providers by providing job specific inspection equipment. \n\u2022 Coordinate third-party calibration services including, but not limited to, request quotes, generating purchase orders, and scheduling calibration services. \n\u2022 Conduct employee training on the proper use and care of inspection equipment. \n\u2022 Generate and distribute periodic reports regarding calibration statuses. \n\u2022 Support the site Quality Management System by participating in internal and external audits as required. \n\u2022 Perform other related general duties as assigned.\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nBasic (Required) Qualifications: \n\u2022 High School diploma / GED from an accredited institution \n\u2022 Minimum two (2) years of quality experience within a manufacturing, production, or operations environment. \n\u2022 No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of (Syracuse, NY) to be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. \n\u2022 Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1, H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, 1-485 job profitability, etc. \n\nPreferred Qualifications: \n\u2022 Associate degree from an accredited institution. \n\u2022 Experience with ISO 9001:2015. \n\u2022 Experience repairing common metrology tools. \n\u2022 Experience with SAP business system experience. \n\u2022 Experience with GAGE Trak or other calibration management software. \n\u2022 Experience with Microsoft Office platforms. \n\u2022 Experience within a Union environment.\n\n## Skills:\n\n \n\u2022 Ability to effectively and confidently communicate ideas, concepts, and programs to all levels of the organization. \n\u2022 Ability to lift up to 50 pounds \n\u2022 Ability to perform administrative tasks such as filing and record keeping. \n\u2022 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
