Description

We Create Products and Brands That People Trust to Clean, Sanitize, and Protect Their Homes and Pools

When you join KIK Consumer Products, you’re joining a team that cares about the work we do and about each other. We bring exceptional brands and products to consumers that help them protect the health and wellness of their families and the cleanliness of their homes and pools. We are committed to building a culture of performance driven by accountability, collaboration, and agility that enables timely fact-based decision-making and exceptional execution with unwavering ethics. As one of North America’s largest independent manufacturers of consumer products, KIK helps a large portfolio of brands and retailers bring their products to life.

Your Role at KIK

Join our team as a Quality Control Inspector in the Blow Mold department on 3rd Shift (Monday – Friday; 10:00 pm - 6:30 am with weekends per business need) at our Houston facility, where your attention to detail directly protects product quality and customer satisfaction. In this role, you are the quality checkpoint within the blow molding room — pulling bottles from the production lines, checking gauges and equipment, and performing drop tests to catch imperfections not visible to the naked eye. While hourly checks are shared with operators covering opposite hours, you remain actively engaged in the inspection process throughout your shift. You will call out defects, pull bottles when quality issues arise, and inspect containers rejected by the leak detector before they are ground up. Beyond inspection, you’ll help trace quality issues back to their source, document your findings, and build on that information to support resolution — while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment. This position does not operate the machines but works in close proximity to them.

This position has an hourly rate of $18.03 per hour.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Inspect product quality on the production line to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Conduct QC tests during production runs as required, using statistical sampling procedures, and document results properly.
  • Maintain accurate records of all inspections.
  • Inspect production lines according to established quality procedures and document results properly.
  • Prepare and complete production line documentation for conformance to customer standards and GMP compliance.
  • Notify the Production Supervisor of any quality issues, resolve issues with the machine operator, and document actions properly.
  • Communicate production line issues with the next shift’s QC Inspector.
  • Perform drop tests and inspect containers rejected by the leak detector before they are ground up.
  • Ensure final product quality, seeking guidance when needed, and contribute to a safe and clean work environment.
  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures, Safety Standards, and all plant policies and procedures.

What You’ll Bring

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • 1 or more years of experience working with precision instruments (e.g., calipers, Magna-Mike, densimeter).
  • 1 or more years of experience in a manufacturing or continuous production environment (Preferred)
  • Basic mechanical aptitude, with the ability to troubleshoot and make minor machinery adjustments.
  • Basic computer skills required, including the ability to learn and operate electronic data collection systems.
  • Ability to use and maintain basic hand tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work safely while remaining alert to machine operations at all times.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Excellent visual acuity (corrected if necessary) for detailed product inspection.
  • Ability to stand for a maximum of 12 hours per shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work in close proximity to moving mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to work in areas where noise, heat, cold, and odor may be a factor.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

What You Will Get

KIK offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits including health, wellness, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance. You can plan for your future with KIK's retirement savings options including employer match. KIK also recognizes the importance of continuing education and offers Education Assistance to our employees to encourage continued personal development and growth.
