Job Description - Quality Control Leader

Description

The Quality Control Leader serves as the driving force behind the quality and safety systems on the manufacturing floor, championing a culture of excellence through continuous improvement. You are responsible for ensuring that all products meet or exceed quality standards by verifying the integrity of incoming and outgoing materials and overseeing production processes. At the same time, you foster a safe and compliant work environment where employees are empowered to operate with confidence and accountability. Your leadership ensures that both product integrity and workplace safety are upheld as foundational pillars of operational success.

 The target hourly range for this role is $18.00-24.00/hour, based on experience, plus benefits (401K, profit sharing). 

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and mentor other Quality team members.
  • Conduct random inspections to assess product quality and verify adherence to safety protocols, ensuring compliance with both manufacturing standards and workplace safety requirements.
  • Provide training of personnel to ensure awareness of quality procedures and specific responsibilities in the Quality Assurance / Quality Control process. 
  • Oversee detailed inspections of components and completed assemblies at various phases of production and throughout the manufacturing processes.
  • Write up recuts and upstream RCIs.
  • Leads the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) for vendor-supplied components.
  • Document nonconforming material.
  • Ensure parts and products meet acceptable quality standards and will satisfy our customers’ needs.
  • Accept or reject finished products and discuss inspection results with the production team.
  • Manage and track Quality metrics.
  • Develop teamwork by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all employees and business contacts.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action Reports (CAR) for Case Systems and BOSTONtec for quality and safety incidents.
  • Process and/or complete various paperwork and reports.
  • Work with enthusiasm, remain optimistic, and seek innovative solutions to problems.
  • Adhere to 6-S by maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
  • Work in an extremely safe manner, following all safety rules and regulations.

Requirements

  • At least one (1) year manufacturing experience at Case Systems.
  • Familiarity with cabinet construction quality standards.
  • Superb attention to detail.
  • A commitment to allowing zero defective parts or products to leave our facility.
  • Strong problem-solving, judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Good attendance, work performance and safety records.
  • Good communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to use personal computers and applicable software applications - production planning, Internet, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work extra hours as needed, sometimes on short notice.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, see and hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms.  The employee may occasionally lift and/or move 50 or more pounds.  Occasional travel and/or driving is required.  Noise levels are typically low to moderate.
