Quality Control Technician

Description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to join our team at South Mountain Creamery. As a Quality Control Technician, you will be responsible for assisting in maintaining the quality and efficiency of our products and working areas. Additionally, you will be responsible for sanitation in various areas to ensure cleanliness and effectiveness. This is a critical role that ensures the health and safety of our employees and the quality of our products.

Responsibilities:

• Test products at changeover: fat content, dates, lids, quality (daily)
• Check bottles for cleanliness  (daily) 
• Check for damaged bottles (daily)
• Check bottle for code date legibility (daily) 
• Equipment cleanliness inspections- visual and ATP swabbing (daily) 
• Environmental Swabbing (weekly) 
• Check that chemicals are adequate around plant (daily) 
• Perform GMP inspections (weekly) 
• Cooler temp logs- check and document temps of coolers (weekly) 
• Help identify and report quality/food safety incidents 
• Perform regular check-ins with the produce packing department (verify quality, food safety, temperatures) 
• Perform regular check ins with outbound trucks (make sure food is being shipped safely and at correct temperatures) 
• Clean and sanitize various areas, as needed
• Trash collection and sanitation of trash receptacles
• Clean up spills and messes in the dry warehouse, including broken glass and debris, as needed
• Perform other cleaning tasks as assigned by management

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Requirements

• Quality Control experience preferred, but not required
• Ability to lift up-to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of cleanliness and      organization
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to follow safety protocols and procedures
