ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for operating all QC Lab Equipment including the CMM and Gear Measurement Machine to correctly measure.
- Correctly measure and document part characteristics in accordance with customer requirements, part-specific control plans, and measurement requests.
- Supports corrective actions for quality defects (including MRB) in the production process.
- Performs analysis of customer rejects (warranty/field/customer plant level rejects). Prepare detailed analysis reports as required and assist QE TEAM.
- Supports the development and maintenance of the Quality Management System.
- Supports internal scrap reduction activities by collecting data, performing pre-analysis, proposing corrective actions, and presenting it to QC Engineer or Supervisor.
- Develops and maintains work instructions and related documentation. Trains QC Inspectors in the use of all equipment in QC lab.
- Follows the guidelines and standards per PPAP, MSA, APQP (if needed), and other applicable customer or ASQ quality standards.
Required Skills:
- Non-destructive testing Level 1 certification preferred.
- ASQ Certified Quality Technician status preferred.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in dimensional layout inspection.
- Minimum of two years’ experience programming and operating a three-dimensional machine.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to train others.
Desired Skills:
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Proficient in the use of SPC data and collection.
- Fully understand non-destructive testing in relation to raw material, heat treatment and welding.
- Computer literature in MS Office software (Word, Excel, and Access) specifically for the purpose of developing reports and graphs.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to train others.
- Good organization skills.
Degree Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED (Associates Degree preferred).
- Certification Requirements: At least 5 years related experience in lieu of Degree or a combination thereof.
