Summary:
The Quality Control Field Technician (QC) is responsible for daily sampling and testing of materials in the lab and/or the field and ensuring finished goods meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Follow quality control plans or guidelines assigned,
•    Procure samples of asphalt for DOT compliance,
•    Complete daily paperwork and test logs,
•    Conduct field production and testing of asphalt,
•    Perform daily quality control testing and analysis of asphalt samples,
•    Responsible for safely operating, maintaining, and caring for assigned testing equipment,
•    May be required to work extended hours including evenings, nights, and weekends,
•    Perform any other duty as assigned.

Job Requirements:
•    High school diploma or GED equivalent required,
•    MARTCP Asphalt Field Technician Certification OR VDOT Field Level II Certification,
•    U.S. DOT Radiation HAZMAT Certification,
•    1-3 years of laboratory experience (industry experience preferred),
•    Valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record,
•    Experience with various hot mix asphalt and aggregate lab equipment; such as gyratory compactor, sieves and ignition furnace,
•    Well-establish organizational skills with strong attention to detail,
•    Solid math and reading skills, with the ability to understand technical manuals,
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
•    Proficient with Microsoft Word/Excel.

Working conditions:
•    May require standing for extended periods,
•    Prolonged exposure to the elements,
•    Ability to kneel, bend, and lift heavy materials,
•    Laboratory setting with exposure to chemicals and laboratory equipment,
•    Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time,
•    This job requires the ability to see, whether naturally or with vision correction tools (glasses, contacts),
•    Climbing stairs daily to get to workstation,
•    Must be able to successfully pass a background and drug screening.
