Job Description - Quality Engineer

Atlantic Bearing Services is a full-service company specializing in Power Transmission Systems. We offer Engineering, Quality Control & Services. Since 1999, we have been engineering and repairing the major components of power transmission systems for Heavy Industry. We are globally recognized for our ability to analyze and understand our customers' problems and offer reliable, cost-effective solutions and personalized service. Our strengths rely heavily on our field experience, equipment performance feedback knowledge, application engineering know-how, as well as design, testing, manufacturing, and distribution experience.


We continuously seek the best talent around the world and, at this moment, we have an opening in the following position: Quality Engineer located in Miami, Florida.


Position Objective:


Manage and ensure compliance with the Quality Management System by analyzing the product's requirements from a customer-centric perspective.


I. Position Responsibilities:



  • Maintain and enhance document management processes for Quality Assurance.

  • Participate in reverse-engineering processes.

  • Manage and supervise the development of Product Control Plans.

  • If prototype fabrications are carried out, this position will oversee their release.

  • Manage variances from the supplied product. Based on observations, experience, and customer feedback, provide precise, data-driven input that influences process and product enhancements. Makes recommendations for modifications to all facets of component system design, documentation, and implementation.

  • Use root-cause analysis, technical resolution, and implementation tools to evaluate our process and identify the precise steps that define variation or defects. Interact frequently with customers about technical issues and discussions, reviews, and performance improvement projects.

  • Assist in the development of modern repair and upgrade procedures to ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes.

  • Interpret and articulate complex issues or determine if process steps or issues affect performance outcomes.

  • Determine the course of action if the products do not meet specifications in order to satisfy customer requirements. Discuss any issues with the Department Manager. 


II. Administrative and Technical Competencies



  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9000 standards and regulations applicable to manufacturing and quality processes.

  • Ability to design, implement, and monitor quality indicators, control charts, capacity charts, and corrective/preventive action plans.

  • Experience interpreting mechanical drawings, tolerances, roughness, product specifications, and performance-based requirements.

  • Knowledge of reverse engineering and structured problem-solving methodologies, including 8D, 5 Whys, and SCAR.

  • Experience with quality testing, Statistical Process Control, Non-Destructive Testing, checkpoints, hazard evaluation, and risk assessment related to quality defects.

  • Proficiency in the use of measuring equipment, inspection techniques, Microsoft Excel, Dynamics 365, and CAD at the user level.

  • Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills to support quality-related initiatives and follow through on priorities.

  • Process-oriented mindset with a logical and methodical approach to identifying issues, analyzing information, and supporting decision-making.

  • Strong quality orientation, with attention to detail and focus on consistent, reliable outcomes.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and provide leadership support when needed.

  • Education: Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or Related.

  • Mandatory degree: No

  • Language: Advanced English

  • Availability to travel: Yes

  • Car and driver's license: No


V. Years of Experience



  • 2 to 4 years

    • Quality control Systems and certification process

    • Reverse Engineering

    • Mechanical drawings and plans interpretation

    • Non-Destructive testing and Statistical Process Control



  • 1 to 3 years 

    • Supply Chain: Supplier Quality Assurance

    • Manufacturing/production processes
