The role of a Quality Engineer involves overseeing and refining the company’s quality control protocols to guarantee the excellence and satisfaction of our products with every delivery. This position entails leading a team of quality control technicians, ensuring adherence to best practices throughout the production cycle, and acting as the pivotal link between manufacturing processes and the final consumers. Responsibilities Manage and guide a team of quality control technicians, setting clear expectations and ensuring they are well-trained in current product standards. Conduct inspections across various manufacturing stages, including components and processes, to ensure compliance with standards. Apply statistical process control concepts effectively, such as variation, control charts, and process capability. Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Engineering, and manufacturing teams to maintain quality standards and implement updates or changes based on quality assessments. Facilitate the review of finished parts by customer inspectors, ensuring compliance with First Article Inspection (FAI) and production lot requirements. Identify and apply appropriate inspection methods to meet customer specifications, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Skills and Qualifications The Quality Engineer role demands meticulous attention to detail and the ability to devise solutions promptly. Required qualifications include: A minimum of 2 years of experience in quality control. Proficiency in GD&T principles and methodologies. Familiarity with AS9100 and ISO9001 standards. Expertise in root cause analysis and corrective action strategies. Experience with inspection tools and coordinate measurement machines (CMM), including program and method knowledge. Capability to select the most effective inspection tools and methods for meeting customer expectations. Proficiency in establishing standard operating procedures, including tool calibrations. Understanding of statistical process control concepts, including variation, stability, control charts, and process capability. Strong analytical skills for evaluating trends and metrics in quality assurance. Proven experience in staff management, including leading, motivating, and training team members towards success. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, etc.).
