Quality Engineer
Location: Anna Engine Plant
Workstyle: Hybrid

About this Position:
Minimizing supplier quality issues using root cause analysis, implementing temporary solutions and permanent countermeasures to ensure minimal line impact and optimal product quality.

Using a regional viewpoint, work with assigned suppliers toward continuous improvement of manufacturing characteristics.

Responsibilities include:
Approve part/process changes for design changes and non-design changes.
Approve/confirm Supplier root cause analysis, development of countermeasures and implementation
Perform data analysis, prioritize top impact issues and drive supplier characteristic improvement activities
Oversee and manage complex problem-solving analysis and investigations
Coordinate and lead supplier countermeasure activities to provide an effective solution
Manage and support communication with suppliers and other departments in regard to countermeasures
Build technical, Honda Way, and Department knowledge

Who we are seeking:

Required Experience
Co-op related work experience
Meets or exceeds requirement for exempt level 1

Required Education
Bachelors degree in Engineering equivalent relevant experience

Highly effective communication skills (verbal & written)
Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
Ability to balance workload and set priorities
Ability to present to varying audiences.
Work in a team environment.
Key Performance Indicators
Meet Division targets in the areas of Downtime, UTR, GDP and TRPU
Meet Department targets for Subline Downtime, Index per million, A-Rank Reports, and Yard Holds.
Respond to INIs, EDCIS, and CPCS within 3 days of submittal
NARS reports to be maintained weekly

Decisions Expected
Authority to approve a part change prior to installation on saleable product
Review proposed countermeasures and their effectiveness once implemented
Authority to require supplier to change processes and procedures to improve/guarantee part conformance to spec.
Approve / confirm Supplier countermeasures

Additional Position Factors:
Workstyle: Hybrid
Travel: ability and potential travel up to 50% (local, domestic, international)
Average overtime is 3-5 hours per week.
Position is a mixture of working on the production floor at the supplier, in an office, and remote work environment.
