Quality Incoming Supervisor - 1st Shift

Description

The Quality Incoming Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the inspection and verification of incoming materials, components, and supplies to ensure compliance with established quality standards and specifications. This role manages a team of quality inspectors and collaborates with suppliers, purchasing, and production departments to resolve non-conformances and drive continuous improvement in the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of incoming quality inspection staff.
• Ensure all incoming materials meet required specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain and enforce inspection protocols, sampling plans, and quality documentation.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes for incoming material issues.
• Monitor supplier performance and collaborate with the purchasing team on supplier quality improvement.
• Ensure accurate documentation of inspection results in ERP or quality management systems.
• Train and develop team members on inspection techniques, tools, and quality systems.
• Support internal and external audits related to incoming material quality.
• Escalate critical quality issues to appropriate departments and leadership in a timely manner.
• Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for incoming inspection activities.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality control or inspection, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• 1–2 years of supervisory or team lead experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, SPC, Root Cause Analysis, 5 Why, Fishbone).
• Familiarity with IATF 16949 or other relevant quality management certifications.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with ERP or QMS software and SAP.
