Job Description - Quality Inspector

Position Summary


The Inspection Technician is responsible for performing detailed quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process to ensure products meet both customer and internal technical standards. The role focuses on inspecting electronic, electro-mechanical, and sub-assembly components, spot-checking workmanship, identifying non-conformances, and documenting findings in support of 1HMX’s quality goals.



Key Responsibilities



  • Conduct in-process, incoming, first article, and final product inspections in accordance with work instructions, engineering documentation, and quality procedures.

  • Use inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, magnifiers, and microscopes to assess dimensional and workmanship conformance.

  • Verify that electronic and mechanical assemblies, including HMI components and PCB assemblies, meet specifications and IPC / customer standards.

  • Identify, segregate, and document non-conforming items; prepare accurate inspection reports, logs, and quality documentation.

  • Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to investigate quality issues and support corrective or preventive actions.

  • Assist in routine calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment.



Qualifications



  • Minimum 2 years of inspection or quality control experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with electronic or electro-mechanical assemblies.

  • Proficient with inspection tools and test equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, microscopes).

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, bills of material, and work instructions.

  • Solid understanding of quality principles and basic measurement techniques.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documenting inspection results.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across functions.



Preferred Skills / Certifications (optional):



  • Familiarity with IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-610).

  • Experience in high-reliability or regulated industries (e.g., aerospace, medical).



Working Conditions



  • Manufacturing / production floor environment

  • May require moderate lifting, prolonged standing, and use of visual magnification tools
