Job Description - Quality Inspector

Eaton\u2019s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Quality Inspector. The core hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm. The hourly rate for this position is $23.00 per hour.\n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nReports to the Quality Supervisor. Offers inspection support for both Receiving and Final inspection, including month end shipments as needed. Inspects product by means of manual layout, caliper and micrometer checks, plug and pin gage inspection, etc. with proficiency. Performs tasks using Windows based software such as Excel and Word. Evaluates product compliancy through proper understanding of blueprints and GD\u0026T. \n\n * Provide inspection support for both Receiving and Final Inspection.\n * Inspect product per blueprint requirements in accordance with the current quality procedures.\n * Evaluate product compliancy through a thorough understanding of industry specifications, blueprint reading and GD\u0026T.\n * Prepare and completes First Article Inspection Reports per AS9102 requirements.\n * Conduct Assembly Floor Layer Process Audits as well as 5S audits to ensure a safe and productive working environment focused on producing quality product.\n * Support as needed to meet our customer demands at month end.\n\n\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nRequired (Basic) Qualifications: \n\n * A minimum of two (2) years experience working in a manufacturing environment.\n * Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.\n * Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of Grand Rapids, MI (50 miles) will be considered for this position.\n * This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. \u00a7 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. \u00a7 1158.\n\n\n\n \nPreferred qualifications: \n\n * Experience evaluating product compliancy through a thorough understanding of industry specifications, blueprint reading and GD\u0026T.\n * Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection.\n\n\n\n## Skills:\n\nPosition Criteria:\n\n * Experience with software packages (e.g., Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Access, Outlook, SharePoint, and Power Point etc.) \n * Ability to read, understand and follow product specifications, drawings, and work orders in English\n\n\n\nWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
