Reports To: Operations Manager

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all products meet the highest quality standards set by Classic Rock Fabrication. This role requires thorough inspections of products throughout the production process, with an emphasis on the final inspection before packaging and shipping. The Quality Inspector must work closely with the Operations Manager to address and resolve any quality concerns.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines set by Classic Rock Fabrication.
  • Conduct random quality inspections during various stages of the production process.
  • Inspect all finished products to ensure they meet quality standards prior to packaging and installation.
  • Perform piece counts, verify color and material, measure dimensions, and check job-specific cuts to confirm accuracy.
  • Report any quality issues to the Operations Manager and collaborate to find resolutions.
  • Ensure proper handling and care of all products during inspection, loading, and packaging.
  • Load completed jobs onto A-frames and secure them according to standard operating procedures.
  • Prepare packing slips and package finished jobs when necessary.
  • Mark orders as complete within the ERP system and make any necessary job edits.
  • Ensure all additional required items are paired with finished jobs before shipment.
  • Maintain an organized, efficient, and clean work area.
  • Operate mobile equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes, to move materials.
  • Obtain and maintain a forklift operator certification.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and Classic Rock's Core Values.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management to support Classic Rock's Vision and Mission.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Three to six months of related experience and/or training in a similar role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Proficient use of a standard tape measure with accuracy to 1/16th inch.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read and comprehend fabrication drawings, job packets, and simple instructions.
  • Capable of writing basic correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one and small group settings with management and team members.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Apply common sense to execute instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Solve problems involving multiple variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Regular physical activities include reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and handling materials.
  • The position requires the ability to lift up to 100 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Primarily indoors in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
  • Noise levels can range from loud to very loud.
  • Requires appropriate safety attire, including steel-toed boots, protective eyewear, and hearing protection.
