Quality Inspector II (CMM / GD&T / ISO 9001) – Machining

Job Summary

We are hiring a Quality Inspector II with strong dimensional inspection, GD&T, and CMM experience to support precision machining operations. In this role, you will inspect tight-tolerance turbomachinery components, ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality standards, and drive nonconformance (NCR) resolution and corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional and layout inspections on complex machined parts
• Use CMM, Faro Arm, and Optical Comparator for precision measurement
• Generate and manage inspection reports, FAIs, and NCRs
• Review supplier inspection reports & material certifications
• Conduct source and receiving inspections (up to 5% travel)
• Maintain calibration systems for inspection tools
• Interpret complex engineering drawings & GD&T
• Support root cause analysis & corrective actions
• Mentor junior inspectors (Quality Inspector I)

Required Qualifications

• 2–5+ years as a Quality Inspector in manufacturing/machining
• Strong experience with tight-tolerance dimensional inspection
• Proficiency in GD&T and blueprint reading
• Hands-on experience with CMM and precision inspection tools
• Experience with NCRs, FAIs, and ISO 9001 QMS
• Ability to perform trigonometric/geometric calculations
• High attention to detail and strong documentation skills

Preferred

• Experience in medium-to-large manufacturing environments
• Background in turbomachinery, aerospace, or defense
• Military/Navy or aircraft mechanic experience
• Experience mentoring or training junior inspectors
