Quality Inspector I

Description

The Entwistle Company is looking for a motivated self-starter to join the team as a full-time Inspector. This position supports the Quality Control Department in ensuring our ability to produce mission-critical parts and components for the U.S. military and our foreign allies. At The Entwistle Company, you will directly impact our nation's ability to deter and defend against outside forces while providing the highest quality products to keep our servicemembers safe.

SUMMARY 

Set-up and perform a wide variety of mechanical and visual inspections, to close tolerances, on highly diversified and complex parts and/or assemblies. High degree of customer and government representative(s) interfacing. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Determine inspection set-up and determine inspection methods. 
• Notify manufacturing / assembly when non-conforming conditions are detected. 
• Request corrective action; monitor output to assess effectiveness of corrective action. 
• Complete record of inspection results and originate related inspection reports as prescribed by procedure. Review data for quality trend evaluation.
• Use a complete range of mechanical inspection equipment such as CMM machine, FARO Arm, Keyence Wide Area CMM, etc.  Recommend new or improved inspection equipment and more efficient and economical inspection methods. 
• Perform final product and assembly inspections and tests.
• Perform first piece inspection, when required, for very complicated parts. 
• Inspect vendor supplied items for purchase order compliance. 
• Maintain work area neat and orderly.
• Observe all health and safety requirements.
• Perform other similar and related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years’  experience
• Ability to use analog type inspection gauges
• Able to read manufacturing blueprints
• Understanding of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing
• Able to operate CMM
