QUALITY TECH INSPECTOR
Position Overview:
A Quality Technician will perform quality control inspections on our company products to ensure they meet the required parts specifications and standards. Ability to identify abnormalities/defects and have strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams within the organization. You may also be required to maintain calibrated test equipment, run manual and DCC CMMs, prepare test data, and identify areas for quality control improvement.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Reads blueprints and travelers to understand what aspect of the job needs to be inspected.
Determine the required measurement tool depending on the feature and tolerance of the measured parts.
Measure and check the parts with appropriate measuring tools to confirm they are within specification.
Sign off on job traveler when parts are acceptable.
When appropriate, follow instructions or procedures for measurement.
Fill out quality forms as required.
Maintain open communication with the CNC operator and management regarding job status, problems, or any changes to work in process.
Be observant of changes in the measured parts to notice trends of declining quality or indications of problems.
Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Keep work areas organized and clean.
Other duties assigned by the Quality Manager as needed or required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Conscientious, organized, and systematic work approach.
Proficiency in using micrometers, calipers, and other standard shop measuring tools.
Understanding of the application and limitation of quality department tools.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions.
Ability to do basic math and understand x, y, z coordinates, and geometry. Proficiency in trigonometry is a plus.
Adequate eyesight and dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities.
Ability to work on multiple assignments at one time.
Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and a basic understanding of MS Office applications.

Regular Supervision. A quality technician can only measure parts after training for in-process or first-piece inspection.

Education / Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
Previous quality experience required (2 years)
Prior CMM experience preferred.
