QUALITY MANAGER - PLASTICS MANUFACTURING - MIDWEST
Quality isn't built through inspections alone. The best manufacturing organizations create a culture where Operations, Engineering, and Quality all own product performance together. If you've helped build that kind of environment, this could be a great opportunity.
WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS
A growing plastics manufacturer is strengthening its quality organization and looking for a hands-on Quality Manager to help drive the next stage of operational excellence.
This role goes beyond maintaining quality systems. You'll help build processes, develop people, lead problem solving, and create a stronger culture of accountability throughout manufacturing.
If you enjoy improving systems, coaching teams, and making a measurable impact on plant performance, you'll have the opportunity to do exactly that.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
• Lead the site's Quality team while coaching and developing future leaders.
• Drive improvements in manufacturing quality performance through data-driven decision making.
• Lead cross-functional root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and Technical teams to reduce process variation and improve consistency.
• Own internal quality systems, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop quality metrics, reporting, and action plans that improve operational performance.
• Support new manufacturing initiatives, process improvements, and product launches.
• Help build a proactive quality culture where accountability exists across every department.
WHAT STRONG CANDIDATES LOOKS LIKE
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or another technical discipline.
• Manufacturing quality experience within a plastics production environment.
• Leadership experience or a strong Quality Engineer ready to move into management.
• Working knowledge of SPC, Root Cause Analysis, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Quality Management Systems.
• Experience leading cross-functional continuous improvement efforts.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence teams across manufacturing.
• Self-starter who enjoys building processes instead of simply maintaining them.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU
• Estimated base salary of $100,000 to $130,000 plus bonus potential.
• Competitive benefits package.
• Relocation assistance available on a case-by-case basis.
• High visibility leadership role with significant influence on the future direction of the quality organization.
• Opportunity to grow alongside an expanding manufacturing business.
WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT
• Not a paperwork-driven quality position.
• Not simply managing inspectors or audits.
• Not a mature organization where every process is already built.
• Not the right fit for someone who prefers staying behind a desk rather than working alongside manufacturing.
If you're looking for a leadership opportunity where you can build systems, develop people, and leave a lasting impact on a growing plastics manufacturing operation, I'd welcome a confidential conversation.
