Role Description:

The Eberhard Manufacturing team is seeking a Quality Supervisor. This role will oversee daily quality assurance and control operations to ensure products and processes meet established standards and customer requirements. This role leads the quality inspection team, supports compliance with regulatory standards, and drives continuous improvement across the organization. The Quality Supervisor will report to the Quality Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Train and manage Quality Inspection employees (Union/Non-Union)
  • Oversee product inspection related to Nonconformance Reports, RMA’s and Customer Complaints. Including 100% dimension and attribute layout
  • Guarantee proper documentation for nonconformances are initiated and maintained (NCMR’s / Red Tags)
  • Ensure all product documentation related to the quality of the product is maintained i.e. QICL’s, control plans, FMEA’s and Product Drawings as necessary
  • Disposition of status of nonconforming products and proper departmental notification.
  • Review open RMA’s, NCMR’s / Red Tags for current status
  • Review of Visual Nonconformance inventory locations for transactions to ensure proper handling of nonconforming material
  • Oversee the daily workflow and assignments of the Quality Inspection Team
  • Communicate effectively to first / second shift any notes or requirements that will affect quality inspections
  • Prepare work schedules to ensure efficient operations, including overtime if needed
  • Maintain knowledge of inspection processes and equipment
  • Troubleshoot any issues that arise
  • Confirm that employees comply with applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Verify accuracy of all labor and inventory reporting
  • Certify that the company’s quality procedures are adhered to
  • Responsible for communicating with Quality Inspection, Production Control, and Customer Service on the inspection priority list
  • Confirm all inspectors have the tools to do the job efficiently and safely
  • Make sure all departments are following the 5S program, work areas are kept neat and clean
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Skilled use of or the ability to quickly learn quality operations and inspection equipment
  • Calipers, Micrometers
  • Rockwell Testers
  • Pin and Block Gages
  • Optical Comparator
  • Torque Testers
  • Excellent supervisory and leadership skills
  • Strong Technical Aptitude
  • Knowledge of plant operations systems ERP, (i.e. MRP / Routings) and Quality Policy
  • Superb verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Outstanding time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to complete reports and logs

Minimum Educational Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing setting
  • Stamping quality inspection experience specifically with single hit and progressive dies, and 30 to 600-ton presses
  • Machining quality inspection experience (i.e. drilling, tapping, broaching, and milling)
  • Experience with ISO 9001 – Current / ISO 14001
  • OSHA knowledge and Safety Awareness
