Job Description - Quality Supervisor - 2nd Shift

Eaton\u2019s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Quality Supervisor - 2nd Shift. This is a 2nd shift opportunity from 2pm-11pm.\n\nThe expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $126000 a year. \n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\n \n\u2022 Proactively implement, promote and maintain a safe working environment, through diligence in accident prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance and Zero Incident culture enforcement. \n\u2022 Gain an understanding of planning, initiating, leading, measuring, monitoring and assessing continuous improvement programs and manufacturing process improvements by applying appropriate Eaton Business System (EBS) processes and problem solving tools such as Standard Work and 5S. \n\u2022 Learn to engage workforce and promote personal accountability by identifying goals, empowering employees to drive decision making, foster innovation and continuously learn by providing ongoing feedback on employee performance with formal evaluation provided at least annually. \n\u2022 Gain understanding of setting, communicating and achieving department goals and objectives and develops and maintains performance metrics as required to monitor results and uses those results as a tool to identify and initiate process improvements within own work area. \n\u2022 Learn to develop employees on the operation of equipment in the department, machine practices and inspection procedures. \n\u2022 Learn to how to keep production costs to a minimum while producing quality products with minimal scrap. \n\u2022 Continually review and revise production procedures to improve department. \n\u2022 Establish and maintain acceptable work practices among employees. \n\u2022 Create and maintain a safe working environment and implement good housekeeping standards for a clean department. Become familiar with line and staff functions, management viewpoints, and company policies and practices that affect each phase of business. \n\u2022 Receive training in several functional departments such as Environmental Health and Safety, Materials, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Human Resources, Finance, Engineering/Maintenance, and Plant Operations. \n\u2022 Become familiar with line and staff functions, management viewpoints, and company policies and practices that affect each phase of business. \n\u2022 Coordinate and monitor production schedules to meet customer ship dates. \n\u2022 Maintain effective communication with other supervisors to ensure efficient and flexible operations. \n\u2022 Learn process for time and attendance, staffing, recruitment, selection, promotion, and performance management. \n\u2022 Gain understanding of work-in-process and Eaton\u2019s Quality Policy and procedures. \n\u2022 Acts as a strong advocate of Lean operating principles and database decision making such as Six Sigma and SPC \n\u2022 Has departmental responsibility and provides departmental leadership across all his/her respective shift/s \n\u2022 Distributes end of shift notes to manager and respective off-shift supervisors\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nRequired Qualifications: \n\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s Degree from an accredited institution or completion of Eaton\u2019s Front Line Leader Associate program \n\u2022 Minimum two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing or operations environment \n\u2022 Minimum one (1) year of supervisory experience\n\n\u2022 Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. \n \n\n\nPreferred Qualifications: \n\u2022 3 or more years of manufacturing experience \n\u2022 Prior manager-of-people experience \n\u2022 Badger Drive plant work experience \n\u2022 2 or more years of continuous improvement processes knowledge \n\u2022 Understanding of production scheduling and product flow \n\u2022 Strong technical knowledge in any of the following areas: machinery, tooling, gauging, metal fabrication, assembly, welding. \n\u2022 Knowledge of Employment and Regulatory Federal and State Laws\n\n## Skills:\n\n\u2022 Proven analytical and problem-solving skills. \n\u2022 Ability to work in a matrix environment, get results and drive change through others. \n\u2022 Effective oral and written communication skills as well as planning and organizational skills. \n\u2022 Ability to manage by influence through solid relationships and process focus \n\u2022 Ability to effectively present results and recommendations to leadership team.\n\nWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
