What You'll Do:

The Quality Systems Specialist works hands-on with production, leadership, and cross-functional teams to maintain food safety programs, support audits, and keep quality systems running smoothly across the site. 

In this role, you will split you time between Administration and the Production Floor.

• Support food safety and quality standards (GMP, HACCP, SQF, Kosher/Halal) across the plant


• Review batch records, track quality data, and maintain documentation systems


• Assist with internal, customer, and third-party audits (prep, gap follow-up, CAPAs)


• Monitor production processes and help resolve quality issues or product concerns


• Partner with operations, maintenance, and R&D to keep processes consistent and compliantHelp train employees on food safety and quality expectations


• Track KPIs, support site performance programs, and participate in daily meetings


• Act as a backup resource for Quality leadership when needed


• Provide occasional support to the Rhinelander site (quarterly visits)

What We Are Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent required 


• Knowledge of quality systems and food safety.


• Familiarity with current GMPs, HACCP, and SQF.


• Computer literacy.


• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.


• Ability to work independently and in interdepartmental teams.


• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

• College degree in a relevant field is strongly desired.


• 2–5 years of experience in food production or a food quality control lab setting.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Intelex, and SAP.

Working Conditions :

• Work is performed in both office, plant, and laboratory settings within a liquid smoke food manufacturing facility located in Manitowoc, WI. There is a smell of smoke in the environment. 


• Exposure to a hygienic production environment with airborne food-grade powders; appropriate PPE is required, including safety glasses, lab coats, gloves, hairnets, beard nets, hard hats, and steel-toed shoes.


• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and climb stairs as needed.
