Review and interpret drawings, schematics, formulas, and applicable standards to establish and maintain quality processes and production operations within both the foundry and factory environments. Perform daily product audits, including inspection and testing of raw materials and casting components through visual checks, use of measuring tools, and chemical composition analysis. Execute and maintain laboratory activities, including managing chemical inventories, preparing and standardizing chemical solutions, and ensuring the lab remains organized and clean. Monitor process and product alarms, review operational reports and recordings, and take timely action to address any issues identified. Assist in and prepare for internal and external audits to ensure compliance with EQMS, ISO 9001:2015, UL, and CSA requirements. Monitor, document, and manage gauge calibration activities, including initiating and coordinating the packing and shipment of gauges for calibration. Conduct and/or support laboratory testing, including data collection, documentation, reporting, and filing of results for various process and production operations. This includes compatibility, moisture, and green strength testing of the sand control system; grain fineness testing of raw core and mold sands; tensile and chill testing of iron production; spectrometer calibration and operation; methylene blue testing of molding sand; and acid drop testing for plating thickness. Assist in developing and implementing Visual Management practices, including maintaining charts and creating information and display boards. Participate in and/or initiate problem-solving processes using Lean Six Sigma methodologies, including RCCA, 5 Whys, and the 8D process. Perform 5S activities to ensure a safe, organized, and user-friendly work environment. Procure small equipment and supplies as needed. Minimum of 2 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future No relocation benefit is offered for this position. High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution Math and analytical skills with the ability to calculate percentages and generate charts on excel to define project baselines and estimate improvements. Basing engineering skill to understand and interpret product specifications Strong problem-solving skills with a bias towards achieving planned results. Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to plan, organize, and schedule work to meet deadlines.
