Quality Technician

You will test, inspect, and prepare documentation to support the approval of the product at various stages of manufacture.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Test in-process and finished product against quality, design requirements, and compliance standards.


• Ability to prepare and review technical documentation, including standard operating procedures, equipment manuals, and discrepancies.


• Ability to perform quality control testing using calibrated instrumentation.


• Maintain tracking of QC events and support tracking of key performance indicators


• Communicate and coordinate with Engineering, Project Management, and production Teams to assess and document inspection requirements.


• Support functional acceptance testing of finished products for pharmaceutical, healthcare, or biosafety applications.


• Inspect incoming assemblies and parts against prints and/or fitment.


• Inspection of field-based product installations against quality criteria.


• Assist in other areas of production as requested.


• Travel as needed.


• Other reasonably related duties.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of basic math and 10-key calculator use to add, subtract, divide, multiply, and figure percentages.


• Ability to read and understand specifications, design documentation, including prints, and quality control inspection criteria.


• Understanding of geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing.


• Ability to work as a team with Quality Team Members and stakeholders such as Engineering, Project Management, and Production team members.


• Ability to work under minimal supervision.


• Detailed and quality results oriented.


• Ability to learn to use and read measuring instruments accurately (velocity meter, photometer, tape measure.)


• Ability to operate basic hand and power tools, as well as a hand jack


• Awareness of general safety principles in a production environment.


• Reliable transportation to work.


• Ability to complete tasks working with others and independently.


• Work overtime as required


• Physical abilities: hearing; seeing; lifting, pushing, and pulling between 50-75 pounds; crouching; bending; twisting; kneeling; squatting; crawling; walking; standing for long periods; reaching in all directions; balancing; holding, grasping and manipulating very small objects; hand/eye coordination; use safety ladder; climbing; lay on a mechanic’s creeper and move about while performing tasks with tools; tolerate varying ranges of temperature in a Shop environment.

Preferred Skills and Abilities

• Experience working in quality control


• Active Driver’s License

Education and Experience:

• High School/GED


• College Degree Preferred


• Experience working in quality system environments based on ISO 9001 or other quality system methodologies


• 2-5 years of relevant experience

Supervision Required:
Low – Ability to work independently and with others to complete tasks on schedule.
