Our innovative technologies and efficient production processes set benchmarks in the industry. To grow our team in Detroit, we are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Technician. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality. This role involves conducting various tests and inspections, analyzing data, and working closely with the production team to identify and resolve quality issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct regular inspections and tests on products and materials.
Analyze test data and identify any deviations from quality standards.
Collaborate with production team to resolve quality issues.
Maintain accurate records of inspections and tests.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures.
Assist with training of production team on quality control processes.
Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards.
Investigate non-conformance occurrences.
Assist with root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Participate in internal and external audits.
Maintain and calibrate testing equipment.
Ensure the quality of incoming materials
Support new product development by providing quality input.
Conduct risk assessments related to product quality.
Provide feedback to management on quality trends and issues.
Adhere to workplace safety regulations.
Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Associates degree in a related field a plus.
Minimum of two (2) years of quality control, quality assurance, and inspection experience.
Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
Experience with internal and external audits.
Class-A and surface check experience on stamped/assembled parts.
Familiarity with weld integrity testing.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Strong understanding of quality control processes and methodologies.
Proficient in the use of quality testing equipment (i.e. gauges, calipers, etc.).
Ability to read and analyze information.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Excellent time management skills
Process improvement mindset.
Strong computer and data entry skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Familiarity with statistical analysis and quality control tools and procedures.
Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain detailed records.
Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
Desire to work in a team-based, lean manufacturing environment.
Willingness to travel for training, and as other business needs may dictate.
Ability and willingness to work any shift, as well as overtime, as required to meet business requirements.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear
Must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand
The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
