Position Summary

This position interacts with engineering, inspection and production personnel to ensure products, components, parts, and materials conform to customer, supplier, and regulatory requirements. The Quality Technician II is also responsible for creating quality inspection plans and developing inspection programs on the Keyence vision measurement system and other inspection equipment. 

  Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions) 

• Assist in maintaining the quality management system.
• Develop inspection plans to be utilized during receiving, in process, first article and final inspection. 
• Train employees in the use of inspection plans, inspection equipment, and procedures.  
• Review existing inspection plans for effectiveness. 
• Using work instructions, job traveler, blueprints, engineer drawings and specifications; inspects, checks, and tests materials, parts, components, and product during various stages of production, including receiving and in-process inspections on the floor.
• Assist in troubleshooting of product processes.
• Create vision inspection system programs to be utilized during receiving, in-process and/or final inspection. 
• Develop “bubble “drawings with callouts for critical features. 
• Assist with Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA) activities. 
• Assist in the disposition and documentation of non-conforming material and the implementation of corrective action. 
• Ensure gages used to validate the product are properly maintained and calibrated.
• Validate product post outside service processing to product and documentation conformity.
• Provide customers with return authorization, as needed, and coordinates with customer service on processing of credit memos. 
• Keep management informed of job-related problems and other information related to work activity.
• Assist in the coordination and execution of process validation activities, including statistical data collection and analysis utilizing capability and gage R & R studies. 
• Assist and train inspection and production personnel in Geometric Dimension & Tolerancing (GD&T) and gaging methodology.
• Maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition. Works safely and complies with all established safety rules and work practices.
• Complies with company, department, and quality policies and procedures as applicable.
• Maintain a positive work attitude and promote a “team’ approach throughout the department.
• Perform other tasks as apparent or assigned.

  Required Skills and Experience 

• Bachelor’s degree (B. S.) in Quality Control or similar; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of two years’ experience in quality assurance function within a precision machining manufacturing environment. 
• Mechanical gage inspection experience.
• Demonstrated programming experience.
• Demonstrated experience with Keyence LM 1000 series vision measurement system.
• Knowledge of quality assurance techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications, including geometric dimensioning and tolerances.
• Proficient reading, writing, oral communication, and comprehension in English language. 
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project). 
• Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively within the organization and collaborate with internal and external clients to determine requirements and eliminate any barriers that may affect the quality and delivery of the product.
• Basic math skills.
• Must be able to pass annual visual exam (20-25, corrected, uncorrected, one eye).

• This position requires the use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Additional Skills and Experience 

• Experience working in the Aerospace, Medical or other highly regulated industry.
• Demonstrated programming experience in Keyence, and/or Micro-Vu, and/or CMM. 

Compensation 

Compensation is determined based on a variety of factors related to the specific position. These may include skills, relevant experience, education, internal equity, business needs, and local market conditions. While the full range is shared for transparency, offers are rarely made at the minimum or maximum of the range.
